KNOWING JESUS SERIES 9 ( OUR LORD)

All professing Christians accept Jesus as saviour, we believe He came to seek and save the lost by His precious blood Luke 19:10 says for the son of man came to seek and to save that which was lost. The main thrust is accepting Him as Lord by confession and practice that is Jesus being the controller, dictator and overseer of our thought, pursuits, purpose, plans, actions, reactions and inaction s.

If He really is Lord, the obvious struggles, backstabbing, backbiting, usage of derogatory words and comments, contentions and at time fights and all negative things that happens even in the fold will be a thing of the past .Heb 12:14 says follow peace with all men and holiness without which no man shall see the Lord.

God gave Him a name that typifies and commands lordship  Phil 2:9-10 says wherefore God also hath highly exalted him and given Him a name that is above every name that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of things in heaven and things in earth and things under the earth.

Our service and worship will be grossly inadequate if we see Him only as our saviour and not as Lord as even the centurion confessed Him as son of God Mark 15:39 says and when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that He so cried out and gave up the ghost, he said, truly this man was the son of God, this happened when he saw the events and signs that happened at that time. Various Synoptic records in Matt 8:28-29, Mark 1:24,Luke 4:32-34 & 41 clearly records where those who were possessed of demos accepted Jesus’ s Sons hip of God .So the balance is if the centurion who was part of the facilitator of His death and demons who by exhibition are anti-Christ could accept some statement about Jesus, we are not better if we accept His saving mandate and not His Lordship. Let’s turn a new leave.

Jesus   is both my saviour and Lord.
