JESUS AND STORM

Introduction

Jesus is the son of God whose mighty works demonstrate the presence of  God’s Kingdom John 3:2, the fulfilment of God's will as revealed in the Old Testament Is. 9:6, and He is the Lord of all Phil 2:9. Jesus is not only greater than any past human prophet but greater than any prophet could/will ever be. He not only speaks God's Word; He is God's Word John 1:1ff, He is the Bread of Life, the Light of the World, the True Vine and more but He was in a storm. As His creature, it is either you have had a storm, you are having one or will soon have one or all of the above.
Sleeping in storm

The following can be deduced from the Master’s act of sleeping even in the storm:

v  He was busy teaching mostly in parables before the encounter (there is a probability of fatigue) Mark 4:1-34
v  He knows the end from the beginning and the beginning from the end (no greater prophet) John 4:17-19,Mark 4:35
v  He has not fulfilled His ministry so can’t perish John 4:34,Mark 4:35,John 7:30
v  He knew what He would do John 6:6,
v  So as to serve as a lesson to us all (especially the sleeping in the storm) Rom.15:4.Mark 4:40.

Few examples/forms/causes of storm   

v  Some storms are caused by self and sin John 5:14, John 8:11.A lazy man should be expecting a storm of hunger/abandonment 2 Thess. 3:10, Gen 3:19.
v  Some storms are trials of faith Dan.6:5 ff... James 1:2-4
v  Some storms are assault of the devil Job 1:6 ff… ( he lost all he had by the ministry of the devil and with a very unusual speed)
v   Some storms are basically to unveil the glory of God John 9:1-3
v  Some storms are forerunners of glory/breakthroughs Dan. 6:25-28


 What What to do when in storm

v  Know God deeper/more Dan. 11:32
v  Ask probing questions/ pray for discernment so as to know the cause of the storm Josh. 7:7-8
v  Don’t seek alternatives Is 44:9 ff…
v  Trust on God and His word    Prov.3:5-6.
v  Pray for more grace and calm the storm. Mark 4:39,John 14:12


Concl Conclusion

All things and this includes storms work together for the good of those that are of God, be one of His and even that storm will work out for your good. Rom. 8:28.
