HOW TO WORK FOR GOD.

HOW?

Having understood the who, characteristic, why and expectations in his vineyard the next big question is HOW?

Here are seven ways with which we can work in His vineyard

1.     Exemplary life: Our lives are so loud that people barely hear what we say (anonymous). When we lead our lives right we are working for God through our lives. Matt 5:16 says let your light shine so brightly that people may see your good works and glorify your father.

2.     Evangelism: This is the heartbeat of God and what he expects us all to do in one form or the other, if you are not on the field practically let your money or other resources be you can talk to your assembly pastor about it. This is a task that must be done.

3.     Contribution to His work: This has several outlets, it is not only money that God’s work requires or that we can contribute to His projects and works, our efforts and physical strength could be used. That is one of the benefit or edge that God gave Nehemiah Neh 4:6 says So we built the wall and all the wall was joined together unto the half there of, for the people had a mind to work. Materials could also be brought,  Ex 36:5 says

And they spake unto Moses, saying the people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the Lord commanded to make.

Then money could also be contributed, but please be sure to be contributing something in God’s vineyard .

KNOWING JESUS 6 (IN ALL THINGS HAVE PREEMINENCE)

The word preeminence is mentioned three times in the bible viz: Ecclesiastes 3:19,Colosian 1:18(our text today),3 John 1:9 and has quite a number of meaning but the one that best suits this study is superior in rank to all things. Our Lord and saviour is indeed superior to all things but we will just study five summary of all things as inspired.  

Sea: Jesus did not only walk on the sea as recorded in Matt 14:25 which says and in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them walking on the sea. He commanded it and it obeyed Mark 4:39 says and he arose and rebuked the wind and said unto the sea, peace be still and the wind ceased and there was a great calm. He has preeminence over sea and by extension nature and will tilt it to work in our favour. Rom 8:28 says and we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose. 

Sin: John 14:30 says hereafter I will not talk much with you for the prince of this world cometh and hath nothing in me. Satan whose property, product and nature is sin scanned the lord and found nothing .1John 3:8a says he that committeth sin is of the devil for the devil sinneth from the beginning. Remove yourself from the shackles of the devil today by running to Jesus for power over sin. 

Sickness: Luke 7:10 says and they that were sent, returning to the house found the servant whole that had been sick. This happened by His spoken words underscoring Psalm 107:20 which says He sent his word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions. He had and still has preeminence over sicknesses halleluyah.

Satan: life is spiritual, this is more true because the spirit controls the physical, and God is spirit John 4: 24a.The encounter recorded in Luke 4:1-13 and matt 4:1-11 amongst other records and referred to as temptation was entirely a spiritual exercise and the outcome was a usual defeat of the devil. Jesus defeated is defeating and will continue to defeat till the last and final battle as detailed in Rev 19:7-21 halleluyah.  

Severance from the body(death): Luke 7:14-15 says and He came and touched the bier, and they that bare him stood still and he said, young man, I say unto thee, arise and he that was dead sat up and began to speak and he delivered him to his mother. John 11:43-44a and when he thus had spoken he cried with a loud voice Lazarus come forth.44a and he that was dead came forth. Our master demonstrated severally during his earthly ministry his dominion over death he even said of himself in John 2:19 which says Jesus answered and said unto them destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up. This he did as evidenced in John 20:17 says Jesus saith unto her touch me not for I am not yet ascended unto my father and your father and to my God and your God. These were his words after he rebuilt the temple after three days as he promised. Are you dead or dieing spiritually being separated from God you need the gospel of Jesus Christ. Is /are there any good thing dead in your life the solution is Jesus, is the devil threatening your physical existence Jesus is the mega antidote, he is knocking waiting on you Rev 3:20a says behold I stand at the door and knock. Open unto Him and you will be glad you did.

     Knowledge of Him: If the gate of the Executive Governor of any state in Nigeria were flung open for anyone willing to work for or with them to enter, the droves that will throng such place will be mystifying why? Power, Political Power , power changes situation and these suffice for political, economic, physical, academic, financial etc you cannot know this Almighty, all-powerful God indeed and not work for and walk with him.

Ps 62:11says God hath spoken once, twice have I heard this that power belongeth to God.

2.     Show of Gratitude: When we work in God’s vineyard we are acknowledging Him for what he is and appreciating Him for what He has done.That we sleep and wake up,travel,in good health all we owe to God Psalm 3:5 I laid me down and slept,I awaked for the Lord sustained me........

KNOWING JESUS 5 (HEAD OF THE BODY(THE CHURCH)

The price that one pays or work done energy expended to have a thing is what gives the authority over it, a summation of all done to get a thing is what gives control over that thing. Jesus Christ out of a love that is simply inexpressible with words paid the ultimate price with His life for the body hence He is the head of the church triumphant Eph 5:25 says husbands, love your wives even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it. Christ is the head of the church for this among other reasons which are cataloged thus.  

He birthed the church, premeditated her incessant existence by raising disciples who in turn continued to raise men till the gospel got to us. Little wonder He made bold to say in Matt 16:18 which says and I say unto thee, that thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build MY CHURCH and the gates of hell shall not prevail. Halleluyah to the source of the church.

Christ is the head of the church because prophecy went ahead of Him as such Psalm 118:22 says the stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner, this the master reiterated in Matt 21:42 which says Jesus saith unto them, did ye never read in the scriptures, the stone which the builders rejected the same is become the head of the corner.

Christ is the head of the church because God made it so Eph 1 :22 says and hath put all things under His feet and gave him to be the leader over all things to the church.

All church that is Christ’s, really sincere about the usage of the name of Jesus, believes that He died for them and are expecting to go to the heaven he went to prepare, usually have human leaders but has Christ as the valid/unquestioned head and controller ,He is the head of the body i.e the church universal.

WHY WORK FOR GOD CONT'D....

1.     It has reward: Ex 23:25-27 says  And ye shall serve the Lord your God and he shall bless thy bread and thy water and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.

There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren in thy land, the number of thy days I will fulfill.

I will send my fear before thee, and will destroy all the people to whom thou shalt come, and I will make all thine enemies turn their backs unto thee

God’s blessing abides with those who work in His vineyard, and not only in this world but also in the world to come. You cannot be serving God sincerely and your life lacks his servicing

 Isa 45: 19 says I have spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth, I said not unto the seed of Jacob, seek ye me in vain, I the Lord speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.

2.     Called by grace: There is a selected few who by grace were called to do specific assignment for God, the owner of the vineyard reaches out to them specifically with a specific mandate to be executed.

3.     It is a command: One of the most important statement of men is in their will, while Jesus was departing here he gave an open employment letter in His will from earth, He spoke thus:

Mark 16:15 says And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

This is a command which’s immediate result creates joy in heaven

Luke 15:7 says I say unto you that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. Will you not want heaven to rejoice because of your fruit?
