INTRODUCTION
Our strength cannot see
us through to our God ordained destination/destiny. There is a place called
destiny, Jacob got there in Gen 26:12
which says Then Isaac sowed in that land and received in the same year an
hundredfold, and the Lord blessed him. Isaac had been a farmer by default
but hasn’t got the magnitude of blessing he got when he leaned on God’s
directive, he trusted in God and got the reward. Little wonder the scriptures
says in 1 Sam 2:9c for by strength shall
no man prevail.
God has not made us to
rely on our strength, qualifications, associations or achievement, Jer 17:5 says Thus saith the Lord, cursed
be the man that trusted in man and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart
departeth from the Lord. Elijah was an ordained prophet and he was held in
high esteem by all and sundry even by kings, but at a point he had to enjoy
commanded blessings, an angel fed him, a Raven fed and a widow fed him.1kings
17:6, 17:15, and 19:5.
God did not make
anything/anyone who will be independent of Him, the earlier we came to realize
and take appropriate actions in this regard the earlier we arrived at the God
ordained destination for our lives. May God bless us as we go through the study
in Jesus name.
·
What
is trust: according to online dictionary it is confidence in
or reliance on some quality or person.
·
Trust is what keeps our focus on God
irrespective of what the outcome/output of our life is as children of God is
for NOW. Romans 8:28 says and we know
that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are
called according to his purpose.
WHY
SHOULD WE TRUST GOD
1. He
loves us genuinely: John
15:13 says greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for
his friends. A love that is so true, so pure, and
so irreplaceable that made divinity become humanity. A love so incomparable.
2.
He has great plans for us: If we
could access God’s mind towards us we will be super excited. Jer. 29:11 says for I know the thought that I think toward you saith
the Lord they are thoughts of peace, not of evil, to give you an expected end.
3. He
keeps His word/doesn’t disappoint: Mark
13:31 says Heaven and Earth shall pass away but my (God’s) words shall not pass
away, Is 40:8 says the grass withereth the flower fadeth, but the word of our
God shall stand for ever. Psalm 34:5 says looked unto Him and were lightened
and their faces were not ashamed. Once he says it, it stays, it must come
to be.
4. His
power never fails: No power can outwit that of God, Psalm 62:11 God hath spoken once, twice have I heard this that power
belongeth unto God. He has never and will never lose any battle halleluyah.
5. He
has absolute Knowledge: He has total and unrivalled knowledge of things he
knows the way things are, why they are thus and how and why they will be in
both near and far future.

How
to trust God
1. Know
God as the source of all good things: James
1:17 says every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down
from the father of lights, with whom is no variableness neither shadows of
turning. ALL good things either those we have already or long for is from
God, our father in heaven.
2. Taking
our problems to Him with faith for a solution: Matt 11:28 says come unto me,
all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.Jer 33:3 says call unto me, and I will
answer thee and shew thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not.
When we take all of our problems to God and Him alone we are displaying and
developing in our trust of Him.
3.
Studying, Meditating and practicing
the scriptures: it’s by studying the
scriptures that the foundation of our trust in God and also our faith in built.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing the
word of God. Roman 10:17.we cannot trust who we do not know, the bible is
replete with who God is and what He can do have you read yours today
CONCLUSION
We live in times where
people trust in their knowledge, education, sophisticated technology, high
detailed and dedicated security details, and stupendous wealth or highly placed
and bonded connections. Psalm 20:7 says
some trusts in chariots and some in Horses but we will remember the name of the
Lord our God. Some this often fails please don’t be caught in such web of
confusion, stand out for God.
