MADE FOR
COMPANIONSHIP: man was created in the image of God, Gen 1:27 says so God created man in His own image, in the image of
God created he him and male and female created he them. God made man for
companionship firstly with God and then with fellow man, little wonder he
called unto Abraham even at age ninety-nine to walk before Him meaning let your
relationship with me be right. Gen 17:1
And when Abraham was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram and
said unto him, I am the almighty God walk before me and be thou perfect. And
the issue of companionship encapsulates Jesus repeated question to peter in John 21:17a which says he saith unto him
the third time, Simon son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Also
a study of the book of the beginnings Gen 3:8 which says And they heard the voice of the lord God in the cool of the day and
Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the
trees of the garden. This scriptures shows something, their reaction
suggests that they were used to His voice, if without seeing his face they
still knew His voice, this means they had a relationship, had fellowship with
one another before then and it must have been taking place in the garden hence
they had to hide from their usual meeting point(s).
DEAD TO HIM: Gen 2:17
but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil thou shall not eat of it for
in the day thou eatest thereof thou shall die. One unequivocal character of
God is that he does not joke, he means what he says and says what he means. Men
in Adam actually died and we lost what connected us to God, His provisions,
fellowship and by and large companionship. Men started struggling to do almost everything,
the need and drive for survival replaced our companionship with Him. The
spiritual nature in man died, and we know that God is spirit John 4:24a says God
is spirit we could not connect to God as a wood can’t easily connect to an iron.
We went totally off the radar. WE DIED TO HIM.
CHRIST DID IT: one
of the most important events that accomplished Jesus’ physical presence is recorded
in Matt 27:51 which says and beheld the
veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom and the earth
did quake and rocks rent. The temple had calibrations viz: outer court, the
court and the Holy of Holies and with it is restricted access in accordance to laws.
The curtain represents the hindrance or restrictions. The death of Jesus as
unveiled in this scripture gave an unhampered access, direct contact,
relationship and companionship that was lost in the Garden of Eden back to men.
He came and died for this outstanding purpose of returning the lost men to an
ever waiting and willing father Halleluyah. Have you come to the provincial grace
of our lord Jesus?
SHALOM.
SHALOM.
